A team in constant change
Since Roundtable members must be under 40 years of age, the people involved in the creation, marketing, and distribution of our beloved Beaver's Crown Gin also rotate.
Despite this constant change, however, all Tabler members share an appreciation for beautiful traditions, and so it quickly became clear that the tradition of a “Schützen Gin” would continue in 2023.
Tradition meets technology
In addition to its lovingly adapted flavor, Schützen Gin differs from our classic Beaver's Crown at first glance thanks to its artistically designed blue and yellow label.
After asking a wide variety of artists, some of them in competitions, to submit their interpretation of a Schützen Gin label in previous years, we wanted to try an experiment this year and decided to combine tradition with technology. This year's label was created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and is intended to show how such technology can be used for a good cause.
The final design
On the way to the current design, we had to learn that the “artistic intelligence” of AI is not always apparent at first glance. After many failures and several hours of computing power, we finally found our design for the 2023 Shooter Edition.
Artificial but not in flavour
We took a risk with this year's design and learned a lot. However, we always agreed that taste should only be assessed by ourselves and humans. At the beginning, taste suggestions were collected in order to prepare for the tasting. In a small, convivial group, eight hand-picked samples with completely different flavors were tasted alongside culinary delicacies.
What remained for us was a gin that is now entitled to bear the label “Schützenedition 2023.” With its refreshing blend of citrus and herbs, we have created the ideal drink for all lovers of good gin, the 2023 Schützenfest, and summer.
